Emma Borts was born to David and Mary (Kemble) Borts in April of 1868 in Iowa City, Iowa (Ancestry Library).
In 1887, Emma taught primary students at the Coralville School. She married Ezekiel Clark, Jr on September 12. 1888. In December of 1890, Emma died while giving birth to daughter Lillian Emma Clark (Lovetinsky et al., p. 95).
