Edwin and Mary (Utterback) Bryant, 1960s

A photograph of Edwin and Mary (Utterback) Bryant in their living room. Mary sits in a chair with a blanket wrapped around her shoulders while Edwin sits on the couch, smoking a pipe. This photograph was published in "Lest We Forget: Coralville, 1873-1973". At the time, Mary was 95 and Coralville's oldest living resident.

Mary (Utterback) Bryant was born February 20, 1878 to Hiram and Myrtis (Knowler) Utterback in Delta, Iowa. On February 22, 1906, she married carpenter Edwin Bryant of Sigourney, Iowa. They lived there until 1940, when they moved to Coralville.

Edwin and Mary had five children together: Imogene, Dorothy, Helen, Dean, and Don. Edwin passed away on December 11, 1968. Mary joined him in death twelve years later on March 4, 1980 (Lovetinsky et al., p. 93; Ancestry Library).
