Description

A portrait of the children of John and Mary (Prior) Paintin: James Senior, John "Jack", and Harriet (Paintin) Koser. Also pictured are their spouses: Mary (Dowman) Paintin, Francis (Robinson) Paintin, and Edward Koser, respectively.

James Sr. and John "Jack" both came to Coralville, Iowa from Oxford, England in 1882. James's wife, Mary (Dowman) Paintin came with them, along with two sons: John and James. The Paintin brothers' younger sister Harriet came to visit them two years later and stayed in Iowa upon learning about the death of their mother, Mary (Prior) Paintin.

Edward Koser and Harriet Paintin married on September 23, 1896.

John "Jack" Paintin and Frances Robinson married January 1, 1895 (Lovetinsky et al., p. 110, 119-121; Ancestry Library; Walch, p. 4).
