Ermal Loghry & Roy Tipton on Optimist Pancake Day, 1960s
Dublin Core
Subject
Description
Ermal Loghry, owner of the Carousel Restaurant, and Roy Tipton stand in front of a large, rotating griddle covered in cooking pancakes. Roy scoops done pancakes onto a plate, while Ermal squeezes batter onto empty spaces. Both wear white shirts, aprons, and hats. A tower of stacked plates full of pancakes balances by Ermal's right arm.
The Optimist Pancake Day was an annual fundraiser meant to raise money for local youth activities. Group members donated this money and their time to support community events, such as the Halloween Party, Easter Egg Hunt, Babe Ruth Baseball, Bicycle Safety Week, and more. The Optimist Club also gave money to the school library and Cub Scouts (Lovetinsky et al., p. 74).
