Empty parking lots at Tanger Outlet Mall

Every other Saturday or so I pick my son up from an afternoon visit to his dad outside the Subway at the Tanger Outlet Mall at 5:30 pm. Usually the parking lot is packed with cars and the storefront sidewalks still full of shoppers. At 5:28 pm on April 4, 2020, it was eerily empty, a result of both mandated and voluntary store closings due to the COVID-19 pandemic and people voluntarily staying home.
