Mayor Jim Fausett stands near center as a line of city council members and city residents use golden shovels to dig at the ground breaking ceremony for the Coralville Center of the Performing Arts. The ceremony took place in the fall of 2010; the Center opened for the first time in August of 2011. The state of the art facility was built with 500 seats and a fully equipped stage.
As part of the dedication ceremony for the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts, Mayor Jim L. Fausett was given the surprise honor of having the theater named after him. This was in recognition of his service of forty years to the city of Coralville (Coralville Connection).
