Owen R. Morgan, Sr. served as an interim Mayor of Coralville in 1936 after Mayor C.F. Robinson resigned. His primary profession was a painter at University of Iowa.
Morgan was born on November 3, 1900 in Pacific Junction, Iowa to Jess William and Orpha (Harlan) Morgan. Eighteen years later, he married Jean Pauline Carter. Jean (Carter) Morgan also served Coralville, acting as Treasurer from 1941 to 1942.
The couple had three sons together: Owen R. Morgan, Jr., Allen Morgan, and Carter Morgan. Owen R. Morgan, Sr. passed away on June 29, 1939 (Lovetinsky et al., p. 78, 86, 118-119).
