winter and into the spring of 1972. The remodeling included a new front of rose quartz chips with redwood trim. Inside the building, the children's section was moved to the east part of the building which was carpeted. This allowed for imrpovement of the study area in the adult section. An open house for the improved facility was held in April. The Library now house 21,215 volumes and averaged 200 books charged out per day. Library hours were increased to forty-four per week.

In 1973, most of the activities for the year centered around Coralville's centennial. The book Lest We Forget was compiled by Library staff members Pauline Lovetinsky, Frances Rogers, and Jean Schwab. Board member Vera Russell acted as consultant. The Heritage Museum Foundation occupied the back area of the library building.

The Coralville Library began participating in reciprocal borrowing with other libraries in the East Central Regional Library System in 1974. In September, Iowa City Public Library also joined in reciprocity, which has proven beneficial to both libraries.

Also in 1974, the Heritage Museum Foundation moved to the old City Hall on Second Avenue. In June, 1975, a contract was awarded to the Library for a building improvement program consisting of a floor, ceiling, lighting, and renovations of the garage and loading dock formerly occupied by the Museum Foundation.

The library staff now consisted of two fulltime and two part-time employees. A part-time janitor position was created. Library hours were extended to fifty-six per week.
