Dublin Core
Subject
Description
A ticket listing a single election choice to fill the political seats of the city of Coralville. Elections were held annually in March from 1874-1953; in 1954, elections were moved to November. (Lovetinsky et al., p. 86).
This ticket states the following:
"Coralville Ticket
For Mayor, T.R. Hackett.
For Recorder, J.A. Simmons.
For Treasurer, C.E. Robinson.
For Councilmen, B. Bowers, John Williams, F.W, Rabenau, P. McGahn, John Davis.
For Assessor, J.H. Clark.
For Street Commissioner, George Moore."
This ticket was most likely printed for the 1887 election and won, as the men listed filled those positions that year (the only exception being that Valentine Miller replaced John Williams as a Councilman). Thomas R. Hackett was also elected to serve as mayor for the years 1891 and 1892 (Lovetinsky et al., p. 82-83).
