Description

Richard "Dick" Goss, Sr. points at his name on the Coralville World War II Honor Roll, which is in the first column on the left. He wears a long coat, hat, and gloves.

The World War II Honor Roll was a large sign listing the names of servicemen from Coralville who served in World War II. Commissioned by the City of Coralville, the sign stood on 1st Avenue until August of 1954, when the American Legion-Walter Johnson Post #721 removed it. The Post then presented the City a scroll which recorded the names of servicemen from both World Wars and the Korean War. The scroll was hung in the Town Hall (Lovetinsky et al., p. 72).
